About the Course
This 9-week foundation course is designed as a complete introduction to pottery — bringing together both handbuilding and wheel throwing into a single, immersive learning experience.
You’ll begin by understanding clay as a material — how it behaves, responds, and transforms through different stages. From there, you’ll explore handbuilding techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction, while also learning the fundamentals of working on the wheel.
As the course progresses, you’ll develop an understanding of form, function, and surface — learning how to shape, refine, and finish your work with intention.
Working in small studio batches, you’ll receive close guidance while building both technical skills and a personal relationship with clay.
By the end of the course, you’ll have created a body of finished ceramic pieces — and a strong foundation to continue your journey in pottery.
