About the Course

This 5-week course introduces you to the fundamentals of wheel-thrown pottery — guiding you from your first contact with a spinning wheel to creating finished ceramic forms.

You’ll begin with the essentials: centering clay, understanding wheel speed, and learning how to control movement through your hands. As you progress, you’ll learn how to pull walls, shape cylinders and bowls, and refine your forms with intention.

Working in small studio batches, you’ll build both technical confidence and a deeper sensitivity to form, rhythm, and material.

By the end of the course, you’ll have created a series of finished ceramic pieces — and developed the ability to continue working on the wheel independently.
