Understand the wheel, tools, and setup. Learn posture, hand positioning, and how to get comfortable with the spinning motion.

  • Centering & Control
Develop the essential skill of centering clay — the foundation of all wheel-thrown forms. Learn to control speed, pressure, and movement.

  • Pulling Walls & Forming Shapes
Learn to pull walls and shape cylinders, bowls, and basic forms — where structure emerges through rhythm and touch.

  • Refining & Trimming
Trim and refine leather-hard pieces to achieve balance, proportion, and clean finishes.

  • Handles & Attachments
Explore adding handles and elements — learning how to join parts seamlessly and thoughtfully.

  • Glazing & Finishing
Apply glazes and understand surface finishes — completing your work through firing, colour, and texture.

  • Practice & Repetition
Build consistency and confidence through repetition — developing control over both the wheel and your forms.

No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to work with clay.
