About the Course

This 5-week course introduces the foundations of ceramic handbuilding.

You’ll learn how clay moves, responds, and transforms as you shape vessels, bowls, and sculptural forms using techniques practiced by studio potters.

Working in small studio batches, you’ll explore pinching, coiling, and slab building while developing a deeper understanding of form, texture, and material.

By the end of the course, you’ll have created a series of finished ceramic objects and developed the confidence to continue working with clay independently.
